Research Peptide Receiving Checklist: Labels, Batch Records and Shipping Inspection

A receiving checklist connects the package in hand with the product and batch records supplied by a vendor, while documenting concerns that need follow-up.

Inspect the package

1. Record delivery date, carrier and package condition.
2. Photograph damage, wet packaging or broken seals.
3. Confirm product name, form, strength and vial count.
4. Check labels are readable and securely attached.

Match the batch

Compare the lot or batch number on the vial or carton with the COA, invoice and product record. Match letters, numbers, punctuation and spacing exactly. A product-name match alone is not enough.

Review supporting documents

• COA: batch-specific identity, purity or content results.
• SDS: hazards, handling, storage and emergency guidance.
• Shipping record: carrier, package and temperature information when available.

Use each document for its intended question. An SDS or shipping record does not replace a batch-specific COA.

Record deviations

Note missing pages, unclear dates, an unmatched lot, unexpected moisture, temperature excursions or a generic sample description. These observations identify what should be clarified before relying on the material.
